Why DnA Yoga?

What is DnA

The word DNA stands for "Doshas" "aNd" "Ayurveda". Doshas are the three energies existing in the individual body that governs the forces of Movement, Transformation and Stability. Ayurveda is the art of living and looking at the body-mind-soul relationship to nature elements: air, space, fire, water and earth.

DNA Way

DNA Way BALANCING three energies: MOVEMENT + TRANSFORMATION + STABILITY; develop AWARENESS and CONNECTION between BODY and MIND to nurture moment-to-moment needs. MOVEMENT: air + space, governs any type of movement in the body, like breathing, elimination, nervous system. TRANSFORMATION: fire + water, governs digestive and metabolic functions. STABILITY: earth + water, governs structural integrity, nourishment and stamina.

The Gateway

We believe that our senses are the gateway between our inner and outer worlds. The five sense organs – eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin connected to the 5 elements: “fire” illuminates light to the eyes, “space” vibrations bring sound to the ear, “earth” brings smell to the nose, “water” moisture brings taste to the tongue, “air” movement brings touch to the skin. We communicate through our sensory organs and make sense of the world around us through our mind.

DNA Connection

Our mind perceives everything through senses, nature speaks to us with sensory experiences. Our awareness and connection to all five senses is what informs the brilliant dialogue between our body, mind and nature. When trying to get out of unhealthy patterns or staying in painful emotional cycles, becoming aware of how sensory input influences us is Key. At Yoga DNA we believe in developing this awareness through our daily yoga practices, becoming fluent in identifying and nurturing our moment-to-moment needs.
